I think they started with the acronym and then made up the full name since it is an awkward name. I stumbled upon this software from Microsoft it is called Image Composite Editor, or ICE. Do we need another one? The answer may be: “Yes if you want to stitch from a video.” ICE, Image Composite Editor OK, panorama stitching has been around for quite some time, and there are several excellent software out there to do this.
